About Our School

Welcome to Daegu Elementary School

Daegu Elementary School proudly serves students from Prekindergarten through fifth grade, including those enrolled in our Pre-School for Children with Disabilities (PSCD) program. Our educational approach features self-contained classrooms for all grades, supplemented by specialized classes in Music, Art, Korean Culture, and Physical Education, enriching the curriculum from PreK through fifth grade.

To address diverse learning needs, we provide a range of specialized services:

  • Learning Disabilities: Targeted interventions and support for students with specific learning needs.
  • Speech Therapy: Comprehensive services to assist students with communication challenges.
  • Advanced Academic Placement Services (AAPS): Enrichment opportunities for advanced learners.
  • Mathematics and Reading Specialists: Dedicated support to enhance skills in these foundational subjects.
  • Multilingual Program (MLP): Assistance for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

In addition, our team includes two full-time School Counselors and a School Psychologist, ensuring robust support for both academic and emotional well-being.

Daegu Elementary School is accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges, one of the foremost school accrediting agencies in the United States, affirming our commitment to excellence.

School Goals

Goal 1: ELA

Increase student performance in writing by 10% by Spring 2026 as measured by the second ELA interim given to grade 3-5, by using the RACE writing strategy.

Goal 2: Math

Increase the number of 3-5 grade students at level 4 and 5 on the summative math assessments by 10% by Spring 2026 by implementing the CUBES strategy for solving word problems as measured by formal and informal assessments graded and analyzed in grade-level teams.
